ShangaShanga purchases locally available raw materials from small suppliers, mainly from women groups who harvest them from their small farms and hence their earnings.
ShangaShanga does not necessarily employ staff to work from its premises but rather encourages the artists to work from their respective homes which saves a lot of time and money in terms of transport and food.
In other words, they work where they live, eat with their families, watch over their small children and also produce more since they work long hours as they wish at the comfort of their homes.
