Shanga Shanga crafts is a Kenyan registered Art and Crafts enterprise situated at Malindi and Nairobi towns of  Kenya.  Its main objective is to design and create African authentic artifacts which are fun to use, wear and adorn, here in kenya and to the world at large. Our items are of African orginality, with a modern blend to suit clients of all parts of the world. Talented artists with guidance from the main designer, work with dedication and delight to send out to the world the richness in african creativity.

Our crafts sell very well locally in our Kenyan stores. We whole sell to well established boutiques and gift shops  within Nairobi,in Mombasa, Zanzibar, Kampala and to various Duty Free shops within the East African cities. Shanga Shanga is currently exporting to Europe and to COMESA regions of Trade as well as within the PTA.  We are currently looking at potential buyers from the United States of America and invite interested buyers to call.

 Shanga Shanga crafts, much as is an income generating venture, it is community based naturing  young talents especially the youth to get into useful ventures as opposed to engaging into wasteful, harmful habits and so they make crafts so as to earn their daily bread.  This earnings pay for school, medical , food , shelter and clothing.   Shanga Shanga purchases locally available raw materials  which are eco friendly and bio degradable from  suppliers, mainly from women groups who harvest them from their small farms and hence their earnings.  Most of the weaving is done by old men and women who entirely depend on our success to sustain their livelihoods.  Shanga Shanga does not necessarily employ staff to work from its premises, although it has a  permanent staff  compliment of  5 , but rather encourages the artists to work from their respective homes which saves them a lot of time and money in terms of transport and food.  In other words, they work where they live, eat with their families,  watch over their small children and also produce more since they work long hours as they wish at  the comfort of their homes.
